Plus, it can ruin the items you keep in your closet. The mold in your closet can spread relatively quickly, so it's important to take care of the problem as soon as you become aware of it. Understand that closets are a common place to find mold because it's often difficult to ventilate them well. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Put on protective gloves and a face mask before cleaning the mold in your closet. You'll be using bleach to get rid of the mold, which can irritate your skin and lungs. Since you're working in a confined space, it's especially important to wear a face mask.

2. Create the mixture you'll use to clean the mold. Mix 4 parts water and 1 part chlorine bleach. Add a couple of drops of non-ammonia dishwashing liquid; it's important to use non-ammonia dishwashing liquid because bleach and ammonia together is highly toxic.

3. Scrub the areas of your closet that have mold with a scrub brush and the mixture you created. The brush will need to be somewhat stiff to scrub off the mold.

4. Rinse the closet with a clean rag and some warm water. Pat it dry with a towel and check to make sure you got all the mold. You may need to use a flashlight depending on how dark your closet is.

5. Open your closet doors periodically. This will increase air circulation and help prevent future mold problems.
