Store Seasonal Linens And Bedding

Store linens and bedding in the room it is most used in.

Seasonal linens and bedding are sometimes difficult to find when needed if not stored properly. Clearing a section of a closet where the bedding is used most often is an easy method to keep all pieces together until you are ready to use them again. Take the time to clear and clean a space for your seasonal linens and bedding. Organizing ahead of time can save you time and money later on. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Throw away linens and bedding you no longer use. Take the better conditioned items and donate them to a charity. Linens and bedding become old and worn just like clothing. If there are holes and tears in some items, throw them away.

2. Clear a location in a closet, drawer or purchase storage bins to house your linens and bedding. Choose storage bins that fit your room space. Under-the-bed bins are popular because you can store and hide them under the bed, so they don't take any space in your room. Closets and drawers should be cool and dry.

3. Wash seasonal linen and bedding. Fold and store seasonal linens at the bottom of the bin or closet. Items that are used most often should be placed at eye level. Place bedding at the top of closet space. These items are big and bulky, store them high since you will pull them out less frequently.

4. Place fragrant sachets between seasonal linens and bedding to keep them fragrant and fresh. Scented drawer linen paper can also be used to keep linens and bedding smelling fresh. Both products can be purchased at most grocery stores.

5. Save the bedding bags that you purchased the items in. Once you wash your linens and bedding, you can store the entire set back in the original bag. This will keep seasonal linens and bedding free from dust and allergens.

6. Read the instructions on the bedding tags. Some items need to be dry cleaned. Antique bedding is delicate and will need special care when storing. Once the linens are professionally cleaned, wrap them in acid-free tissue paper to keep them from yellowing.
