Brushes can be kept in a toothbrush holder when not in use.
Organize your crafting supplies and materials so that you can find what you need when you need it. Most crafters have so many supplies it's easy for items to get misplaced, so having an organized crafting area will save you time and frustration. Whether it's a closet, a cupboard or simply a few shelves devoted to your collection of craft materials, keeping them in order is the best means of having the supplies you want available when you need them.
Instructions
1. Organize bottles of paint into an easy-to-carry, easy-to-sort container such as a large cookie tin. Whether round or square, these durable containers allow you to line up paint bottles by color, size or texture. Many of these tins are available at flea markets and thrift stores. They are also useful for organizing bottles of glitter and glue.
2. Store dyes, paint and water mixes in empty jam jars and place in tins or on shelves. Glass jars with secure lids are good for storing everything from walnut dyes to pre-mixed watercolor solutions.
3. Store paint brushes in an empty toothbrush holder. Place them bristles up in the holes reserved for toothbrushes, letting them drain and dry quickly while making them easy to select and use.
4. Cut cereal boxes at an angle and use to store loose craft paper, patterns, stencils and other paper or light plastic materials. Label the outside of each box with its contents, making your collection easy to index.
5. Use small jars for sorting beads, buttons, sequins and other small craft supplies by category. Store those small jars in clear plastic shoe boxes, making them easy to view and sort.
