Install Wardrobes

A wardrobe adds additional storage to the closet space.

Wardrobes provide a great way to add additional hanging storage to a home with limited closet space. The wardrobe can keep seasonal items out of the way, or it can be used every day as a main decorative feature of the bedroom. Installing a wardrobe only takes a few minutes, and can easily be done at the location where the wardrobe will be placed to avoid transporting the bulky unit. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Open the boxes in which the wardrobe arrived. Find the parts list in the instruction manual. Match each part in the list with its physical counterpart within the boxes. Note any discrepancies and report them to either the retail store or the manufacturer to receive the replacement part post haste.

2. Read each section of the instruction manual to become knowledgeable with the installation process and gain a good understanding of the final product, which is especially important if the installation will be modified in any way. Look for any inserts in the packaging that describe factory modifications to the installation procedure, as these can often fall to the bottom of the box and be overlooked.

3. Assemble the wardrobe on its front. Stand the long sides of the wardrobe up with their long, thin surfaces on the ground. Use an assistant to hold them in place, with the clothes rod between the side boards, while you set the top and bottom boards against the side boards. Attach the boards at each joint using the included assembly method of screws, bolts or pegs.

4. Set the rear of the wardrobe on top of the frame and attach it securely using the included form of attachment. Flip the wardrobe over. Set the hinges in place against the side boards and drive the hinge screws into the predrilled holes. Set the door against the hinges and line the predrilled holes up with the hinges. Screw through the hinge and into the door with the hinge screws. Stand the wardrobe upright against the wall.
