2. Find out the intended use for each storage system. Though you can really use any storage system to store anything you want, most have an intended purpose. For example, a drawer-based storage system may be designed to store smaller objects in your garage, such as small tools. Others, like cabinet-based storage systems, may be designed specifically for larger objects such as table-top drills and saws.
3. Compare the weight restrictions of any storage system you buy. As many tools and objects designed for the garage are made of metal and other similarly heavy substances, you'll want to make sure your storage system can handle the load. For example, if a particular shelf-based storage system for your garage can only hold 200 pounds of material, you wouldn't want to put a 300 pound drill on that shelf.
