Lucid Lynx
is the title of Canonical's 10.04 release of the Linux distro Ubuntu. Like all other versions of Ubuntu, you can install VirtualBox, a virtualization program, onto Lucid Lynx and use it to run one or more operating systems within the main operating system. You can use these extra operating systems to test software products on different OSs than the one you're using, experiment with different Linux distros or maintain a throw-away install in case of data corruption.
Instructions
1. Launch your Web browser by clicking "Applications," then "Internet" and "Mozilla Firefox." Navigate to the VirtualBox website at virtualbox.org, then click "Downloads."
2. Click "VirtualBox for Linux Hosts" to view the available downloads. Select the "Lucid Lynx" download link, then choose either "i386" if you have a 32-bit computer, or "AMD64" if you have a 64-bit computer. A window will appear prompting you to either save or open the file; click "Save." Wait for the file to be saved, then double-click it to open the installation dialog.
3. Click "Install" on the installation dialog, and wait for VirtualBox for Lucid Lynx to be install.
