Wardrobes, also known as closets, may develop unpleasant smells from certain phenomenon, such as mold, mildew or pet stains. Such smells can transfer onto clothing, shoes, accessories and other items unless physically removed from the wardrobe. Many commercial odor removers only cover up or mask smells instead of completely eliminating them. Instructions
1. Remove all items from inside the wardrobe and launder them as directed along with 1 cup of white vinegar. Add the vinegar before the rinse cycle.
2. Wipe the wardrobe's doors, walls and shelves with a cloth soaked in white vinegar. Let the vinegar dry.
3. Punch several holes into the lid of a plastic container using a screwdriver. Fill the container with activated charcoal and place it inside the wardrobe for 24 hours to remove odors. After 24 hours, remove the charcoal and place all items back into the wardrobe.
4. Fill sachets with dried lavender and hang them inside the wardrobe to prevent odors from returning. Replace sachets monthly or when the lavender loses its potency.
