A full-length mirror is not only beautiful but also multi-functional. It adds visual depth to a space and allows you to see a life-size reflection of yourself, which makes it a necessity when it comes to personal grooming and dressing. Attach full-length mirrors of different shapes and styles to each bedroom closet door so that everyone has their own. Or add one to the inside of the kitchen pantry closet for an unexpected twist. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Select a mirror that is not too heavy for the closet door, keeping in mind the size, shape and type of door you're working with. For instance, if you have a sliding door, you should purchase a lightweight mirror so as not to hinder or restrict movement when opening and closing the door.
2. Center the mirror on the door, using a partner for assistance. Have them hold the mirror flat and steady against the closet door as you outline it with your marker/pencil. Remove the mirror. Place marks within an inch from the edges of the four corners, as well as halfway up both sides, to indicate where to insert the screws. Distributing the weight of the mirror in this manner provides an additional level of support.
3. Drill holes into the closet door at the marked points. Re-position the mirror, and insert the screws to mount it to the closet door.
4. Opt for an "over-the-door" full-size mirror that comes with hooks, brackets or a pre-attached frame. To install, simply hang the mirror over the door via these supports. Purchase the mirror with or without molding/decorative framing.
