Make A Necklace Holder For My Closet

A necklace holder for your closet will keep the strands straight.

Maximize storage space in your bedroom with a necklace holder for your closet. Chains and beaded strands should not be piled into a flat jewelry box; make your own necklace organizer quickly and easily using inexpensive materials. Even if you've never built or crafted anything before, you can make this DIY project. You can create your necklace holder in a variety of sizes to fit the back side of your closet door or to hang on a wall inside your closet. Decorate the necklace holder with spray or acrylic paint, vinyl rub-on stickers, decoupage art or rubber stamps to enhance the design.

Instructions

1. Remove the backing and the glass from any size wood picture frame that fits in the desired location inside your closet. Save the backing and the glass for future craft projects. Remove any metal tabs or screwed-in attachments from the back of the frame that are designed to affix the backing onto the wood frame.

2. Spray paint the front and edges of the frame to coordinate with your closet d cor. Allow the paint to dry.

3. Measure top, bottom and sides of the frame. Make a mark every 1-1/2 to 2 inches along the top and bottom of the frame. The dots can be in a horizontal row or staggered along the width of the frame. Make a mark every 1-1/2 to 2 inches along the sides of the frame, but offset the marks so that none are above another. This will make it easier to hang the necklaces on the holder without them becoming tangled.

4. Insert a cup hook into the wood frame over each mark. Flip the frame over. Attach self-adhesive, interlocking hook and loop tape onto the back edges of the wood frame. Hang the necklace holder on the back of your closet door or on an interior wall.
