Arrange A Girl'S Closet

Closets can have more organization possibilities with the right types of storage.

A girl's closet can be challenging to organize. There are different types of clothing that a girl can have in her closet, and there is also clothing for the various seasons of the year. Other than clothes, a girl's closet can include other types of items and accessories, such as purses, belts, hats, scarves and jewelry. Whether you're arranging the closet for your teenage daughter or a friend, include the owner of the closet in the organization process, so she can find her things easily. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Separate clothing into seasons. During the summer, heavy winter clothes can be stored away, and in the winter, light summer clothes can be stored as well.

2. Divide the clothing into types. Jackets go with jackets, jeans with jeans and t-shirts with t-shirts. It makes arranging the clothes much easier.

3. Start hanging things up. As you put the clothes on hangers, hang them in the closet. Organize by color to make finding outfits easier. For example, the sweaters might go in order from light to dark colors. Then start the color scheme over again when you get to the next type of clothing.

4. Add storage bins to the floor of the closet. Each bin should be labeled using a label and marker so you know what's inside. For example, a small bin with multiple sections can be used for jewelry, while a large, flatter bin can be used for shoes.

5. Stack the bins in order of importance. If you're going to be stacking the bins, put the most-used items on top. For example, in the spring, the bin filled with scarves, winter hats or gloves can go on the bottom of the stack.

6. Place other items on the top shelf. The girl's closet might be used for storage, such as extra linens for guests or the boxes of off-season clothes. Stack these items on the top shelf of the closet.
