Rubbermaid Storage Shed Instructions

If you are tired of moving your yard tools or other items out of the way every time you try to drive into the garage, maybe you should invest in a small storage shed, like one made by Rubbermaid, to organize your things. Within a few minutes, you can have it assembled, moved into position and ready for storage. The assembly instructions are clear and easy to understand. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Contact your local municipality office to find out if you are required to obtain a permit for the size of your shed. Some localities restrict the size and number of sheds allowed per property.

2. Prepare the site by laying either a concrete pad or a weather-treated wood foundation to set your storage shed on. It needs to be solid as well as level so that the floor doesn't bend and warp, making the walls crooked as time passes.

3. Visit the Rubbermaid website to find the exact assembly instructions for your size shed. Print them out after you have downloaded them to your computer. Staple them together so they don't fly away or get disorganized when you are working outside putting your shed together.

4. Check the parts of your shed with the assembly instructions parts list to make sure that you recognize every piece and that nothing is missing.

5. Knock out the screw holes and tabs on the floor panels with your utility knife and screwdriver at the marked positions shown on the directions. Drill pilot holes on the top surface and then along the middle edge of the back panel where the floor will join. Screw the floor panels together.

6. Follow the exact directions for removing the tabs from the side panels and snap the rear left side panel into position on the floor. Get the back side left panel ready by removing the tabs and lubricating the dovetails with the liquid soap. Slide the back panel next to the side panel and then down so the dovetails join and the bottom snaps into position, forming a corner. Work around the floor, removing tabs and assembling the wall panels as directed, and installing the wall connectors.

7. Place the back roof panel in place, aligning the tongues into the grooves. Lift the center and place the roof support into position. Screw the panel into position at the marked holes. Repeat these actions for the front roof panel. Install the four roof pins.

8. Lift the front door into position by setting the hinges into the hinge sockets and raising the roof slightly to fit it in place. Slide the lock hasp into position on the right door and attach the door handle with screws to the left door.
