The way you layout your bathroom can affect its efficiency.
Whether you're in the middle of a bathroom remodel or just thinking about remodeling, the way you layout your bathroom affects both the efficiency and flow of your bathroom space. Place areas which go together next to each other. For instance, you probably want to place your towel rack and towel storage area close to the shower. Does this Spark an idea?
Separate It
To create a more modern bathroom layout, separate different types of items in your bathroom into specific sections. Make a shower stall separate from a soaking tub. Add a half wall between your toilet and the rest of your bathroom or situate the sink area off by itself. In a master bathroom, create an efficient flow by separating the sinks from the major bathroom area entirely to form a morning space with a closet and sinks outside the bathing or toilet area.
Double Up
Add value to your home by doubling up in your bathroom layout. Install double sinks instead of a single sink if you have the space. Make your walk-in shower big enough for two, and add multiple shower heads, so a couple using the shower isn't left out in the cold. If you include extra closet space in your bathroom remodel, create a closet for more than one person, leaving enough basic storage space for two sets of toiletries.
Create Storage Space
When you're planning the layout of your bathroom remodel, don't forget to leave space for storage. Add drawers or shelves under the sink to store toiletries. Create a closet or shelves to store towels and other bathroom linens, or make a larger closet space to store clothes. If you lay out clothes every night before you go to bed to wear the next morning, add a small closet space just big enough to slip a hanger or two inside to store those items each night.
