Design A Computer Closet

Designing a computer closet helps to keep your general computing area free from computer towers, printers and other types of equipment. Computing components generate a substantial amount of heat, more so when they are compacted into a confined space. Thus, be sure to follow these precautions in order to minimize the possibility of system overheating in your computer closet.

Instructions

1. Clear out all clothes and belongings from the closet before moving in your computer equipment. This ensures there will not be any extra material providing insulation, trapping and holding heat in the area.

2. Position the computers and other equipment as close to the ground as possible in the closet. This prevents the components from being exposed to rising heat, keeping the equipment cool.

3. Install one or more desk or window fans in the closet. This improves airflow, keeping heat from building up unduly within the area.

4. Keep the door to the computer closet at least cracked while the system components are running.
