A wooden storage shelving unit can store your personal handbag collection.
Storage space is frequently required in homes, whether it is in the garage, kitchen, bedroom or office. Shelving units, plastic storage boxes or full furniture cabinet units can be extremely expensive, as they are custom made with pricey materials. Premade storage solutions may also not be suitable for you, if you need a specific size; the expensive storage solutions may only come in set specific sizes. To solve this problem, build your own wooden storage shelving unit.
Instructions
1. Lay the plywood down on a work surface. Measure and mark two side pieces for the storage shelving unit. The pieces should be identical and measure 50-by-20 inches. Draw three additional pieces for the bottom, top and shelving piece. The three pieces should be identical and measure 30-by-20 inches.
2. Move the plywood piece to the side of the drawing table so you can cut out the pieces using the jigsaw. Once the five pieces are cut, sandpaper the edges.
3. Place the top piece, shelving piece and bottom piece on their sides. Line them up, so you have three pieces in a vertical placement in front of you. Take the two side pieces and line them up perpendicular to the three pieces, so the side pieces surround the three pieces. In other words, the three pieces should be in between the side pieces.
4. Attach the top piece to both side pieces by hammering nails into the side pieces. The nails should extend into the top piece. Do the same for the bottom piece. Attach the shelf based on your needs in the same manner as the top and bottom piece. Use the level to ensure the structure is even. For example, you may want two equally large shelves or you may want one large and one small shelf. Hammer nails into the side pieces, so the nails extend into the shelving piece when installing it.
5. Flip the wooden storage shelving unit right side up and place it in the location of your choice. Add your storing items to the wooden shelf.
