Get Rid Of Monster In The Closet Ideas

For some children, the idea of a monster living in the closet is a very real and scary idea. Getting these children to be comfortable enough to go to sleep can be an equally scary task for the parents. Simply opening the door and showing a child an empty closet is not enough, as all children know that monsters can appear and disappear at will. Instead, try some creative monster-banishing techniques to ensure that both you and your child will get a good night's sleep.

Instructions

Monster Poison

1. Fill an empty spray bottle with water. Add a drop of scent, such as vanilla, to make it more interesting than plain water. Or, add a drop of food coloring if you don't mind colored water possibly getting on the items in the closet.

2. Create a colorful label for the bottle with the title, "Monster Poison." Attach it to the spray bottle with tape or use a blank sticky label for your creation.

3. Tell your child that monster poison will prevent any monster from getting into the closet. Before you tuck you child into bed, open the closet, and give it a couple of good sprays from the bottle. For extra protection, close the closet door and spray that as well. Place the bottle by your child's bed for added reassurance, unless you are afraid your child will get out of bed and empty the bottle into the closet.

Monster Guard

4. Purchase a large, blow-up punching bag (many toy stores sell them) or blow-up toy, such as a pool toy.

5. Inflate the toy, and set it beside your child's bed. Drape a coat around it, and place a hat on top of it.

6. Tell your child that the inflatable will look like a person in the dark, and that monsters will not come out of the closet if there is what looks like a person standing or sitting next to the child's bed.
