Fashion design games encourage players be creative regardless of their drawing ability.
Fashion design games have a dual purpose: they allow you a large degree of creativity and imaginative thinking and they show you what it would be like to work as a fashion designer. Online fashion design games also are cost effective because they let you design fashions without spending much on drawing supplies or materials, regardless of your drawing ability.
Fashion Fantasy Game
Developed by Nancy Ganz, "Fashion Fantasy Game" is both a game and a social networking site that empowers girls to "...design and sell virtual fashions in a competitive online environment that offers them a taste of what it would be like to have their own fashion businesses." The game gives girls a chance to explore not only the creative aspect of fashion design, but also the business aspect. When joining, players decide if they want to be a designer or a store owner. Then you pick a major fashion capital of the world that you'd like to work from: New York, Los Angeles, London or Paris. Next, you have to rent a space, produce your logo, make a design, create your diva, go shopping, get dressed, edit your profile and blog and make friends. It is also a goal to network as much as possible on the site so that other players will "buy" your virtual fashions. The game offers tips and tricks for selling.
Makeover Designer
The website FashionGames4u.com offers a game called "Makeover Designer," which gives you several choices at the beginning. You can make over the face of the model, dress her or design clothes. If you select the "Design Clothes" option, the game takes you to a virtual sketch pad. You click on items in your designer's closet and drag and drop them on the paper. They appear as a black and white sketches on your pad. Here you may change their color or pattern or select the "Inspiration" tab for a suggestion from the website. You can design shoes, bags, jeans, shorts or tops.
Design Diva
Enjoy "Design Diva" on the I-Dressup.com website. The game begins by giving you the choice to start in regular mode or design mode. Once you choose the design mode, you see a large sketch pad on one side of the screen and a wardrobe full of designed clothes on the right. You drag and drop each item of clothing to the sketch pad and there you can change its color or pattern. If you like what you've made, you may save the designs to your collection. Once you've finished you can drag and drop each piece of your collection onto a fashion model to test how they look. If you want to start over, keep designing or delete a piece from your collection. You can make tops, jackets, shorts, pants, skirts and shoes.
