Solutions For Rooms With No Closet

You can keep your bedroom neat and organized, even without a closet.

If you've just moved into a new home and have a few rooms with no closet, it may be easier than you think to stay organized. Following a few simple tips for storing away clothing or children's toys will keep the bedroom or playroom welcoming and neat. Does this Spark an idea?

Size

If your room is fairly small, the additional storage units that you include in the space in lieu of a closet shouldn't be too overwhelming. For instance, a small nightstand that will fit in the corner takes up minimal room and items, like clothing and books, can be stored in the drawers. A larger piece of furniture that can be used for storage, like a chest of drawers for a bigger bedroom, give the area a classic look while providing a place for you to store the items that would normally be in the closet.

Types

Several types of furniture can be included in a closet-less room to make the room more attractive. For instance, installing shelves on the wall in a bold color, like blue or red, will enhance the look of your child's room. Also, you can use large bins for storing clothes that are not in season at the moment and put them under your bed to avoid clutter.

Considerations

It may be a good idea to use another room or area in your home for storage if your room has no closet. For instance, your winter clothing can be stored in the garage during the spring and summer, or you can store smaller shoes, like sandals, in the closet of your home office until the weather is warm again.
