Puzzles await you in the closet.
"Escape Series 2: The Closet," an escape game made by Afro-Ninja, has, according to the game text, "No plot, no story, no motive." By clicking around the screen, you must look for items you can use to find your way out of the closet in which you're inexplicably trapped. To get out of the closet, you must find three well-hidden keys and use a number of tools.
The Tiny Gold Key
When the game begins, you're facing the locked closet door through which you'll eventually exit. Most of the items you must interact with are behind you, which you can find by clicking twice on either the left or the right side of your screen.
You'll now be facing a rod with one bare hanger and a hanger holding a coat. The bare hanger can be added to your inventory. Clicking on the coat will open the lapel and reveal a pocket watch, which can also be added to your inventory.
Clicking on the lower portion of the screen will show you a view of the floor. The lower-right corner has an old photograph; once you pick it up, you can take a closer look at it. In the foreground is a hand holding a ruby ring; the background, while blurry, shows a clock set to 3:35.
The floor of the closet also holds a toolbox. Beneath the tray is a mini-crowbar, and on top of the tray is a set of wire cutters. You'll need to collect both of these tools.
By combining the wire cutters with the coat hanger in your inventory, you'll obtain a wire rod that can be used to open the pocket watch. You can now pull out the pin on the watch and set the time to 3:35. The minute hand will need to point to the "7" and the hour hand must be placed between the "3" and the "4." If this is done correctly, you'll receive the tiny key.
The Silver Key
Clicking on the top of the screen will bring you to a view of the ceiling, showing a locked panel fastened by four boards. The mini-crowbar can be used to remove these wooden boards, and the gold key will open the panel. In the dimly lit crawlspace is a switch that must be flipped before you return to the lower closet area.
The scene below now has a bluish hue and shows an envelope on the shelf and a blue shirt hanging on the rod. The envelope contains a note from your grandfather, dated November 17, 1987, telling of a family heirloom that is being passed down to you. The pocket of the shirt holds a personal organizer. If you enter the letter's date into the organizer--"111787"--you'll earn the small silver key.
The Ruby Key
The floor of the closet now shows a shoehorn, which serves no purpose, and a small locked box, which can be opened with the silver key. Inside, you'll find the ruby ring from the old photograph. If you select the ring from your inventory and click on it, you'll see that the ruby is loose. Click on the ruby a total of five times to remove it from the ring. The ruby can be combined with the wire rod you fashioned earlier to form a ruby key.
Returning back to the door where you started, you can get a close-up view of the lock, which is shaped like a pentagon. The ruby key fits into this lock and allows you to escape from the closet.
